Happy last Monday of August! Hopefully each Monday will start to get a little cooler in temperature. In southern Texas we will still see 90 and above through September. In fact our Autumn really seems to start in November! Thank goodness for the modern convenience of air conditioning we can pretend it’s cooler than it really is.
The kids are back in school, this is the second Monday so far of this school year and we had a smooth drop off today. I think we are still in the honeymoon phase. You know your boy is really growing up when he gets up without a reminder from Mom, takes a shower and is out the door on time everyday. Of course I still wake up and get my day started as well just incase I’m needed.
Today’s chores have had me in the kitchen.
- Clean cabinet doors/ pantry door
- Tidy top cabinets
- Clean out fridge
- Clean window
- Meal Prep
I also made a small batch of brownies for after school treats. The recipe is a simple one and found on the back of a can of unsweetened bakers cocoa from Target.
This afternoon I plan on finishing the laundry, knitting and reading some of my favorite blogs. I will link a few here:
Around 3 I head to the elementary to get in the car pick up line. I have decided to use this time to read my Bible and an inspirational book on my Kindle. Right now I am reading, Learning Contentment by Nancy Wilson it’s free to read for Kindle unlimited members and perfect while waiting in a long line of any sort! The ESV Bible is also free to download for any Kindle unlimited members.
Tonight we are having our typical Monday meal of spaghetti and meat sauce with corn and salad.
Have a great Monday!
